Abstract
⺠Low perceived control is related to obsessive compulsive beliefs and symptoms. ⺠Control beliefs were manipulated to examine the effect on time spent cleaning. ⺠High predicted controllability was related to longer cleaning times. ⺠Low control-related self-efficacy was related to higher desire for control ratings. ⺠High desire for control was related to longer cleaning times.
