Abstract
⺠Mood-as-input predictions did not apply to a painful physical task. ⺠Participants induced with a negative mood spent more time at the painful task. ⺠Sense of responsibility was associated with painful task persistence. ⺠Pain increase during task execution was associated with longer task persistence, execution speed and quality of performance. ⺠Fear-related pain did not affect task persistence.
