Abstract
⺠Body dysmorphic disorder patients engage in metacognitive processing related to appearance. ⺠Metacognition may be one way in which the disorder is maintained. ⺠We apply metacognitive therapy (MCT) to BDD patients. ⺠We examine changes in thought-fusion and BDD symptoms. ⺠MCT indeed reduces symptoms of BDD and thought-fusion which is maintained up to 6-months follow-up.
