Abstract
⺠We evaluate whether traditional exposure is needed to achieve clinical improvement. ⺠First, we compare blocked and constant exposure to random and variable exposure. ⺠Both types of exposure produce decreases in subjective fear. ⺠We also examine fear habituation and variability in relation to outcome. ⺠Greater variability in reported fear in exposure predicts lower fear at follow-up.
