Abstract
⺠Generalized and nongeneralized SAD belong to the same underlying population. ⺠Differences between the subtypes disappear when controlling for social anxiety. ⺠Support for qualitative differences between SAD subtypes was not found. ⺠Subtypes of SAD differ quantitatively, and SAD exists on a continuum of severity.
