Abstract
►We examined whether experimentally induced disgust results in fear reactions of children. ►Induced disgust produced higher levels of fear towards a novel animal. ►Induced disgust also yielded a negative interpretation bias involving this animal. ►These findings demonstrate that disgust has a fear-promoting effect.
