Abstract
► Examined cognitive and psychological factors affecting response to intrusions. ► OCD and control participants completed neuropsychological tests and questionnaires. ► Measured frequency of intrusive thoughts and distress during thought suppression. ► OCD group had worse working memory and response inhibition and more intrusions. ► Only beliefs about controlling thoughts uniquely predicted response to suppression.
