Abstract
The nature and content of intrusive images in obsessional compulsive disorders (OCD) are described. They are primarily visual, usually vivid, effortless, fully formed, of brief duration, and remarkably stable. The persistence and changes of the images are described and some therapeutic possibilities considered.
