Abstract
Because of its direct preventive action on degenerative diseases and age-related disabilities, the use of testosterone increases quality of life in men with LOH. The approach to LOH should be multidiscipli-nary, combining prostate safety and urological consultation, when required, with close follow-up by the general practitioner and the active participation of relevant specialists. Recommendations for the diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and prevention of LOH in Latin American men are proposed. These recommendations should be adapted to each patient.
