Abstract
⺠The context of a learning situation influences infant learning and memory. ⺠We assessed 6-month-olds' imitation of two models in two locations. ⺠In their own homes, infants exhibited imitation after observing a familiar model. ⺠In the lab, infants exhibited imitation after observing an unfamiliar model. ⺠6-month-olds' imitation varied as a function of the social and physical context.
