Abstract
ⶠThere is a need for an economical method to gather data on social communication in large populations. ⶠParents were asked to record social interactions with their infants using inexpensive camcorders. ⶠGood quality data on social communication were obtained in over 85% of clips. ⶠFurther work is required to establish the acceptability of this technique in longitudinal studies.
