Abstract
▶ Literature reports a less optimal communicative development after preterm birth. ▶ Preterms made less re-engagement attempts in a dyadic still-face context at 6 months. ▶ Preterms followed gaze less than full terms in a triadic context at 9 months. ▶ Dyadic skills at 6 months were positively related to triadic skills at 9 months. ▶ Less favorable dyadic skills can negatively impact later developing triadic skills.
