Abstract
ⶠLiterature reports a less optimal communicative development after preterm birth. ⶠPreterms made less re-engagement attempts in a dyadic still-face context at 6 months. ⶠPreterms followed gaze less than full terms in a triadic context at 9 months. ⶠDyadic skills at 6 months were positively related to triadic skills at 9 months. ⶠLess favorable dyadic skills can negatively impact later developing triadic skills.
