Abstract
⺠This study investigates semantic preview benefits in reading Traditional Chinese. ⺠Traditional Chinese differs from Simplified Chinese in orthographical complexity. ⺠Semantic preview effect was obtained in single fixation and gaze durations. ⺠Preview duration modulates the phonological preview benefit. ⺠Semantic information can be extracted early in the parafovea when reading Chinese.
