Abstract
⺠Positive stimuli elicit more smiling activity when virtual humans are present in the virtual environment. ⺠Pleasantness ratings of stimuli are unaffected by the presence of virtual humans. ⺠Findings suggest that the perceived presence of virtual humans may lead to less inhibited expressions of affect.
