Abstract
⺠Hypotensives compared to normotensives did not show any differences in sleep quality. ⺠Nevertheless, they exhibited lower nighttime blood pressure and reduced myocardial contractility. ⺠Furthermore, they showed a low sympathovagal balance across the whole night. ⺠Hypotensives failed to show correlations between diurnal and nocturnal blood pressure values. ⺠Impairment in autonomic regulation underlying the essential hypotension condition.
