Abstract
⺠Pregnancy is known to produce a blunted physiological response to challenge. ⺠Pregnant women can mount physiological and psychological relaxation responses. ⺠Pregnant women exhibit reduced autonomic, but not psychologic responsivity to relaxation. ⺠Blunting of physiologic responsivity during pregnancy is non-specific such that it is observed during conditions that both promote and decrease arousal.
