Abstract
► Pregnancy is known to produce a blunted physiological response to challenge. ► Pregnant women can mount physiological and psychological relaxation responses. ► Pregnant women exhibit reduced autonomic, but not psychologic responsivity to relaxation. ► Blunting of physiologic responsivity during pregnancy is non-specific such that it is observed during conditions that both promote and decrease arousal.
