Abstract
⺠Caricaturing shape facilitates acquisition of new face representations. ⺠Caricaturing results in more negative N170, P200 and N250. ⺠Behavioural and ERP effects increase linearly with the level of caricaturing. ⺠Distinctive shape is particularly useful during early stages of face familiarization.
