Abstract
⺠Pharmacological depletion of cerebral microglia attenuates waking effects of methamphetamine. ⺠Methamphetamine upregulates nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activity in microglia. ⺠Neuronal NOS knockout abolishes microglial NOS activation by methamphetamine. ⺠Methamphetamine alters sleep regulatory cytokine synthesis in microglia selectively.
