Abstract
► We tested the ability to mentally represent action with fine-motor movements across adulthood. ► Movement durations for young- and middle-aged adults were faster than older adults. ► Moderate correlations between imagined and executed movements were found for all age groups. ► Imagined responses were always faster than executed responses. ► Older adults are slower than younger adults, but are able to create relatively accurate internal models for action.
