Abstract
⺠We tested the ability to mentally represent action with fine-motor movements across adulthood. ⺠Movement durations for young- and middle-aged adults were faster than older adults. ⺠Moderate correlations between imagined and executed movements were found for all age groups. ⺠Imagined responses were always faster than executed responses. ⺠Older adults are slower than younger adults, but are able to create relatively accurate internal models for action.
