Abstract
⺠We examined the nature of the representations involved in occipito-temporal cortex. ⺠We focused on motion-perception area V5 and posterior temporal regions. ⺠Human and object motion sentences were contrasted with their static counterparts. ⺠Posterior temporal cortex, but not V5, strongly responds to animacy and motion. ⺠Language recruits supra-modal event-based representations in posterior temporal cortex.
