Abstract
⺠We correlated sensory and phonological skills with functional activation for reading. ⺠Skill level was correlated with differences in cortical and subcortical activations. ⺠Language and non-language measures influenced reading via common brain pathways. ⺠Language, skill consolidation and sensorimotor integration regions were involved.
