Abstract
► We investigated lexical access in dyslexia using Lexicality effect and Frequency effect. ► These reveal differential effects for dyslexics and controls in left area 44 and 45. ► Cytoarchitectonic maps help distinguish effects between good and bad readers. ► Effects mimic findings from dyslexics in primary school, suggesting stability over life. ► Compensation from childhood dyslexia involves Broca's and Wernicke's region.
