Abstract
⺠We explore the developmental shift from outcome- to intent-based moral judgment. ⺠Like adults', children's judgments of punishment rely more on outcome than their judgments of wrongness. ⺠The emergence of an intent-based concept of wrongness constrains punishment judgment. ⺠A reorganization of moral concepts from ages 4-8 leads to the emergence of two distinct judgment processes.
