Abstract
⺠We present a new connectionist sentence generation system. ⺠The system's semantic inputs have a novel sequential structure. ⺠Its design embodies a theory about the link between syntax and sensorimotor cognition. ⺠The system combines nativist and empiricist models of syntactic development. ⺠It is able to learn both abstract syntactic patterns and surface patterns.
