Abstract
⺠We modeled a false-belief task using constructive neural networks. ⺠Model suggests infants require more than simple associations to succeed at task. ⺠Model suggests task transitions due to increases in processing capacity. ⺠First transition may be due to distinguishing false- from true-belief situations. ⺠Second transition may be due to avoidance being more variable than approach.
