Abstract
⺠We investigate the relationship between synesthesia and executive control functions. ⺠Synesthetes did not generally differ from controls in classic executive control paradigms. ⺠'Normal' Stroop performance did not predict synesthetic Stroop performance. ⺠No clear relationship was found between executive control and synesthetic effects. ⺠Which mechanisms are at play during conflicting (real and synesthetic) sensations?
