Abstract
► We investigated how body-scan meditation practice affects somatic signal detection. ► Meditation increased sensitivity on the somatic signal detection task (SSDT). ► Meditation reduced false alarms (incorrect touch reports) on the SSDT. ► Meditation improves the accuracy of somatosensory perceptual decision making. ► Meditation could potentially benefit patients with medically unexplained symptoms.
