Abstract
⺠Are visual fantasies constrained by our previous perceptual experiences? ⺠Visual memory of early 20th Century individuals is based on monochromatic media. ⺠Mental imagery is less colourful than for individuals from the era of colour media. ⺠Colour manipulation only influences imagery for black-and-white era individuals. ⺠Imagery can be constrained by surface features of visual representations in memory.
