Abstract
⺠If an odor mixture is sniffed repeatedly, one odor dominates then another - rivalry. ⺠This report details new methods for detecting olfactory rivalry. ⺠This report also examined whether people are aware that rivalry is taking place. ⺠Rivalry can be detected by the experimenter comparing sensory reports. ⺠Participants do not seem to notice the occurrence of rivalry.
