Abstract
⺠Confidence in beliefs involves an inference like that involving the outside world. ⺠Is based on the consistency of support across considerations retrieved from memory. ⺠Confidence monitors the likelihood of endorsing the same belief in the future. ⺠Confidence should be consistently higher for “majority” than “minority” beliefs. ⺠The results have implications for philosophical views of epistemic justification.
