Abstract
⺠Manipulating self-identity causally impacts episodic memory and future thinking. ⺠Experimentally inducing high self-efficacy led to greater episodic specificity. ⺠Experimentally inducing high self-efficacy led to greater self-efficacy content. ⺠Experimentally inducing high self-efficacy led to better social problem solving (SPS). ⺠Lack of episodic future thinking predicted poorer performance on SPS tasks.
