Abstract
⺠Participants responded to a digit or numerosity in a repeated-single-digit display. ⺠Congruity affected performance in both symbolic and non-symbolic representations. ⺠For incongruent trials, only laterality (and not distance) affected performance. ⺠The relevant dimension is processed elaborately whereas the irrelevant one, crudely.
