Abstract
⺠Participants monitored whether actions had the intended effects on a moving object. ⺠Irrelevant but semantically related vocalizations influenced judgments of control. ⺠Vocalized directions were confused with predicted and actually perceived movements. ⺠There was a cumulative impact of vocalizing over multiple moves. ⺠Analogous impacts of vocalization occurred for passively observed moves.
