Abstract
► Artificial grammar learning was used to investigate Unconscious Thought Theory. ► Distraction, conscious thought or immediate progression introduced before test phase. ► No detectible effect was found on decisions made with meta-cognitive awareness. ► Distraction improved the quality of responses made without meta-cognitive awareness. ► Results of “unconscious thought” do not always transfer to conscious awareness.
