Abstract
► This study investigated a link between knee-related muscle pain and posture control. ► Pain caused faster onset of postural muscles in anticipatory postural adjustments. ► Pain caused reduced postural muscle activity in anticipatory postural adjustments. ► Faster onset may indicate a compensatory function to maintain postural control. ► Reduced activity may indicate a pain adaptation strategy to avoid secondary damage.
