Abstract
► The perception of affordances for children was investigated in 3 tasks. ► Estimations of step length were less accurate than estimations of in reaching tasks. ► One trial observation led to a 50% error reduction if the initial estimation was poor. ► In some tasks, a minimal amount of practice was enough to adjust perception. ► Calibration in the estimation of affordances for children is task dependent.
