Abstract
⺠Attention, organization and distinctiveness are necessary and sufficient to account for enhanced memory for emotional stimuli. ⺠When attention to emotional and neutral stimuli is equivalent, memory for these stimuli is equivalent. ⺠Attention only mediated the effects of emotional arousal on memory when primary distinctiveness was controlled.
