Abstract
⺠We explain the broader extent of semantic pathology, beyond truth and the liar paradox. ⺠Semantic pathology is shown to manifest indeterminacy in complete parallel with inconsistency. ⺠The two symptoms of semantic pathology are further connected in new, dual-symptom, naysayer cases. ⺠We explain the best-known responses and how none is able to treat semantic pathology's full extent. ⺠We conclude that a new approach is needed and sketch some elements of the pretense account we prefer.
