Abstract
⺠Harrisian critique of the ontology of language underlying the notion of 'supervernaculars'. ⺠Concept of 'supervernaculars' based on an artefactual view of language and a fixed-code semantics. ⺠I question rule- and system-based views of language as affirmed by ethnomethodologically inspired sociolinguistic theory. ⺠Orthodox linguistics cannot adequately explain linguistic diversity seen in modern digital literacy practices.
