Abstract
⺠Linguistic representations of Chinese masculinities in popular films were studied. ⺠Chinese martial artists are considered masculine in a global market. ⺠Mediatized Chinese masculinity is widely accepted in popular films. ⺠Culturally specific differences exist between hegemonic and Chinese masculinities. ⺠Chinese martial art heroes in popular films share general similarities.
