Abstract
⺠More physically active people have lower risk of overt and, possibly, covert stroke. ⺠Damage after ischemia and perfusion is reduced in treadmill trained animals. ⺠The optimal exercise dose for ischemic stroke prevention is still unknown. ⺠Studies should examine whether there is acute protection after one exercise bout.
