Abstract
⺠Classical toxins, radiation and drugs of abuse induce conditioned taste aversions. ⺠Ability of rewarding drugs to produce taste aversions is no paradox. ⺠Drugs of abuse produce opposing motivational effects. ⺠Drug reward and drug aversion are mediated by independent mechanisms. ⺠Both drug reward and drug aversion play a role in drug self-administration.
