Abstract
ⶠIn PWS patients fat mass is increased and lean body mass is decreased. ⶠGH positively influences body composition in PWS, but does not normalize it. ⶠDecreased muscle mass (25-37%) contributes to reduced muscle strength and hypotonia in PWS. ⶠThe neuromuscular abnormalities found in PWS may be innate or result from disuse. ⶠTraining improves body composition in PWS patients and could prevent disuse.
