Abstract
► TS is multifactorial; multiple large-scale studies for TS are currently underway. ► SLITRK1, MAO-A, DRD2, DAT1 have been repeatedly implicated in TS. ► The histaminergic hypothesis in TS is supported by linkage and pathway analyses. ► The first GWAS for TS points to new candidate genes (e.g. COL27A1, POLR3B). ► Genes implicated both in TS and autism support a common etiological background.
