Abstract
⺠We measure hemispheric asymmetries in the representation of fast-mapped word meanings. ⺠Novel words acquired under high constraint showed N400 priming effects in the RH only. ⺠Novel words acquired under low constraint did not show any N400 priming effects. ⺠We discuss the role of the RH in fast-mapping novel meanings.
