Abstract
► Anosognosia for motor trouble was systematic in early HD patients. ► Anosognosia correlated with symptom severity, mental flexibility deficit and striatal atrophy. ► Awareness of involuntary movements was poor, even in controls. ► The normal neglect of involuntary movements might explain anosognosia for chorea. ► Cognitive impairments might prevent anosognosia to be corrected by inference.
