Abstract
⺠Individuals reappraised the emotions associated with the recall of aversive images. ⺠Down- and up-regulation commonly engaged lateral and medial PFC during recall. ⺠Down-regulation was linked to the greatest neural activity during memory search. ⺠Up-regulation was linked to anticipatory activity prior to a memory cue.
