Abstract
⺠We test the role of the hippocampus in unaware relational memory. ⺠MTL amnesics show intact implicit memory for novel verbal associations. ⺠These findings demonstrate flexible use of retrieval cues following MTL lesion. ⺠Some forms of relational memory do not depend on the hippocampus.
