Abstract
⺠Damage to the ventromedial frontal lobes in humans disrupts preference judgments. ⺠This increase in inconsistent choice is not accompanied by a change in decision time. ⺠This supports a necessary role for the ventromedial frontal lobe in stimulus-based economic choice.
