Abstract
⺠We tested if emotional and linguistic prosodic processing run a similar time-course. ⺠We report a PEP in response to emotional, linguistic, and combined expectancy violations. ⺠The latency and distribution of the ERP component differed between conditions. ⺠This suggests that emotional and linguistic prosody rely on partly differing neural mechanisms.
